Based in California’s Bay Area, the Drogues fused early ’80s post-punk and agitprop political finger-flying to create a taut, angular racket. The Drogues (Kevin Crouse on drums, Ray Larsen on bass, and Mark Smith on guitar) released "No Facts That Don’t Fit" in February 2006 on its own imprint, Waxbrain Records.
The Drogues played numerous gigs across California, from Berkeley's Gilman Street to San Francisco's Bottom of the Hill. Over the years they played with Giant Haystacks, The Don'ts, From Monument to Masses, Caesura, Ovipositor, and Del Rey. The band's 2006 album, which was recorded at John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone studio, was engineered by Jay Pellici (Erase Errata, Deerhoof).
Since the Drogues went on hiatus, the various members of the band have continued to make new music. Ray has made considerable noise with his band the Creeps; Kevin has performed with LSD and the Search for God as well as Shakes Gown, to name a few; and Mark and Kevin have been working on new music as Shadow Structure.
